How to Use Teknet in the Field

Teknet runs in your browser — no app to download. Sign in, see your assigned tickets on a map or in a list, open a ticket to complete the checklist and upload photos, then close it out. Everything happens on one screen.

Get going in about a minute

1
Sign In

Open your browser and go directly to jnwglobal.com/teknet/login.php. Enter your email and password, then tap Sign In.

Tip: Bookmark this link or add it to your phone's home screen so you can open Teknet with one tap.
Tip: Teknet is built for portrait mode. If you rotate your phone sideways the screen will ask you to turn it back upright.
2
First Time? Create an Account

If you don't have a Teknet account yet, tap Create an account at the bottom of the sign-in card. Fill in your email, a password (and confirm it), your full name, and your company, then tap Create Account.

Teknet will email you a verification link from our login provider (the sender will look something like noreply@jnwapp.firebaseapp.com). Open that email, click the link, then come back to the sign-in page and sign in normally.

Tip: Don't see the email after a few minutes? Check your spam or junk folder. The email subject usually starts with "Verify your email".
3
Find Your Tickets on the Map

After signing in you land on the Field Map. Your assigned tickets show up as orange star markers . The number inside each marker is how many tickets are at that site. Completed jobs show as green circles .

The map opens centered on your current location (your phone will ask for permission the first time).

4
Open a Ticket

Tap any marker. A details panel slides up from the bottom showing the site address, contact, and ticket info. From there you can:

  • Tap Go in the panel header to open driving directions in Google Maps or Apple Maps.
  • Tap Open Checklist to fill out the work checklist.
  • Tap Upload Photos to upload photos of the completed work.
  • Tap Call on the contact card to call the site contact.
5
Close the Ticket When You're Done

Once the checklist is complete and the photos are uploaded, tap Remove from App / Mark Complete at the bottom of the ticket card. The ticket moves out of your active list and JNW is notified.

Closed the wrong ticket? Call JNW right away — closed tickets must be reopened by the office.

Every feature on the page, explained

A
Loading Screen

When the Field Map first opens you'll see a brief loading screen with the JNW Teknet logo and three bouncing orange dots. This is normal — Teknet is checking your secure access and pulling your assigned tickets from the database.

If you lose your internet connection, the loading screen may stay up longer than usual. Move to better signal and the page will recover on its own.

B
Top Bar

At the top of the screen is a white card showing the JNW Teknet logo and your signed-in email, plus two buttons:

  • Logout — signs you out and returns to the login page.
  • — on phones this expands or collapses the filters, search, and view toggle below the top bar. Tap it any time you need more screen for the map.
C
Map View vs. List View

Two buttons let you switch how you see your work:

  • Map View — your tickets pinned on a Google map. Best for picking the next stop.
  • List View — every ticket as a row with site number, auth, service, and access info. Best for scrolling through assignments quickly.

Both views show the same data and respond to the same search and filters.

D
Route Planner

The green Route Planner button (full width, just below the View toggle) takes you to a separate page that helps you plan the best driving order for your assigned tickets.

Use Route Planner when you have several tickets in the same area and want to lay out the most efficient drive. When you're done you can return to the Field Map at any time.

E
Stats Chips

Three small cards show your current numbers at a glance:

  • Active — total active tickets assigned to you.
  • Completed — total completed jobs that have been recorded under your email.
  • Active Locations — number of unique sites you have active tickets at (a site with three tickets only counts as one location).
F
Search

The search bar filters both the map and the list. Type any of the following:

  • TID (ticket ID number)
  • Site number
  • Auth number
  • City, state, or part of the address
  • Service type or company name

Tap Clear to reset the search.

G
Map Markers

Tickets are pinned on the map with two marker styles:

  • Orange star — active ticket. The number inside is how many active tickets are at that site.
  • Green circle with checkmark — completed job. The number is how many jobs you've completed at that site.

When the map is zoomed out and several markers are close together, Teknet groups them into clusters — a wider rounded badge showing the total number of sites. Zoom in or tap a cluster to break it apart.

H
Map Filter Chips

Three chips float at the top of the map:

  • My Location — centers the map on you and shows only tickets within a small radius. Tap again to toggle back to Show All Tickets.
  • Active — show only active tickets.
  • Completed — show only completed jobs.

Tapping a filter that's already on turns it back off (shows everything).

I
Floating Map Tools

Two round buttons sit in the bottom-right corner of the map:

  • ⌖ (target) — zooms the map out to show all of your visible tickets.
  • ↻ (refresh) — re-frames the map to the current set of visible tickets. Useful after filtering or searching.
J
Ticket Details Drawer

Tapping a marker (or a row in List View) slides a details panel up from the bottom. From top to bottom the panel includes:

  • Address and city at the top, with a green Go button that opens directions.
  • Badges showing ticket status (Active, Completed, Grouped Stop, "Ticket X of Y").
  • Satellite map preview of the site — tap it to open an interactive map. The Close / Medium / Far buttons let you change the preview zoom.
  • Open Site Viewer — opens the audit viewer page for that site.
  • Location Contact card with a Call button if a phone is on file.
  • Ticket card with service type, filter size, tonnage, auth, company, driving directions, and access info.
  • Action buttons: Open Checklist, Upload Photos, and Remove from App / Mark Complete.

To close the panel, tap the dark area behind it, tap the small handle bar at the top, or swipe the panel down.

K
Grouped Stops (Multiple Tickets at One Site)

When a single site has more than one active ticket, Teknet shows them as a Grouped Stop. The drawer adds a navigation row with left and right arrows and a strip of TID pills.

  • Use the arrows to cycle through the tickets one at a time.
  • Tap a TID pill to jump directly to that ticket.
  • A yellow notice reminds you which ticket the checklist and photo buttons currently apply to — always confirm the TID before tapping Open Checklist or Upload Photos.
L
Get Directions (Go Button)

Tapping the green Go button in the drawer header opens a small "Open Directions" menu:

  • Open in Google Maps — best on Android, also works on iPhone if you have Google Maps installed.
  • Open in Apple Maps — best on iPhone or iPad.
  • Cancel — closes the menu without doing anything.

Directions launch in a new tab so you can come back to Teknet by switching tabs.

M
Completing a Ticket

When you're finished with a job, tap the red Remove from App / Mark Complete button at the bottom of the ticket card.

You'll get a confirmation prompt before anything is moved. Once confirmed, the ticket:

  • Moves out of your Active list,
  • Becomes a green completed marker on the map,
  • Sends a notification back to JNW.
Mistakes happen. If you closed the wrong ticket, call JNW right away — only the office can reopen a closed ticket.
N
Signing Out

Tap the red Logout button at the top of the page when you're done for the day. This clears your session and returns you to the sign-in page.

If you simply close the browser tab without logging out, Teknet may still remember you the next time you open the page on the same device.
O
Troubleshooting
  • Markers won't show up. Pull down to refresh the browser tab, or tap in the bottom-right of the map.
  • "My Location" isn't working. Check that Location Services is enabled on your phone and that your browser has permission to use it.
  • Screen is sideways and says to rotate. Teknet is built for portrait mode — turn your phone upright.
  • Can't sign in. Make sure your email is verified. New accounts must click the verification link before signing in. Use Reset Password on the sign-in page if you've forgotten your password.
  • Still stuck? Call JNW and we'll help.
